Strategic Assessment Officer

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation seeks a dynamic, talented professional to work with our Director of Strategic Assessment and Assistant to the President.

You will:

  • Contribute to the foundation’s ongoing strategy development and planning.
  • Help with the design and implementation of foundation-wide systems to measure social impact, inform learning and drive program improvement.
  • Play an integral role in examining new investment opportunities and mapping best practices.
  • Develop evaluation tools and metrics in partnership with program teams and grantees.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings to build the foundation’s knowledge management capacity.
  • Communicate information gathered from funded initiatives to policy makers and non-profits.
  • Manage teams of outside vendors and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or experience equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least four years of related work experience in strategy consulting, public policy, business, research or nonprofit management.
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: presentation, written and listening.
  • Extremely well organized and strong project management capabilities.
  • Bright, energetic, collaborative and goal-driven personality.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
